Include a portable version of the program that enables you to take your creations (unfinished and finished) with you anywhere so as to be able to work on the fly.

This is a very complex piece of software. Create tabs for the various Tools, Segments, Tracks, Songs etc and include skins for changing the appearance of how the software is presented.

When creating a new song, enable the changes from previous songs to be accessed if needed rather than having to re configure all of the tools available (I may want to create a variation of the previous song or songs)

Remember state when windows close, so that if I am in 'edit melody segment' entering notes, and leave to hear the whole arrangement, I don't have to keep resetting to enter notes instead of selecting. It would also be better to default to entering n

I have several choices of Midi Input (eg Microsoft Synthesizer - SB X-Fi Synth A & B, Microsoft Midi Mapper and others. You need to include advice on how to choose the input before choosing one of these Midi Ouputs via the installation wizard.

I do realize that you can change the input later, but it would still be useful if we were told which is the better option. Thank you.

add numerical input to slider controls

It is difficult, especially on a laptop trackpad, to set values (eg the Tempo) to an exact speed using the slider controls. So the addition of the ability to enter the value numerically instead would be very useful.

When completing the license wizzard, allow me to use ctrl v to paste the serial number. While you could use the 'paste' button, I generally use ctrl c and then ctrol v, so this would be an easy addition.

visual feedback in the Staff tab

in the Staff tab when playing notes make an option that can be turned on and off that each note will give visual feedback when playing it will be good for beginners to learn about Rhythm to see it visualize it.

Use a modern installer. The current one looks weird and outdated, and probably doesn't work as well as well-known systems such as Inno Setup and NSIS.

Plus if you need to, you can script Inno and import plugins for NSIS to do the serial checking. Which brings me to another issue: why is the serial checking done inside the installer anyway? That is so old-school.

Add support for SoundFonts to be used. Because the default Windows MIDI patch set sounds terrible, and not everybody has a SoundBlaster card.
